What is the Threefold Return (or Law of Three)?

Each action has an equal reaction. Physics has taught us this. you cannot drop an apple without suffering the damage of the bruised side. Likewise, we cannot take it away once the deed is done. We have only one choice, and that is to live with the consequences (ok, so there is also the choice of blaming it on some other thing. Like the Devil, or some evil man walking past the tree, but how honest is that??).
The same is true for all our actions. The threefold return is non-descriminatory, it is a universal principle that can also be found in some other religions. The basic theme behind the threefold return is:
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Or, in other words, Don't do anything you wouldn't want to happen to you.

If you send out love, joy, respect, happiness, charity, mercy and all the other positive things in live, you shall receieve them back to you "threefold", (ie. three times as much). It is karma, we receive what we give, "What goes around comes around." etc. I believe it comes back threefold, but some say it is just equal to what you send out. The reason I say it's threefold, is because I believe everything has an energy, and when you send out energy into the world, it mingles with other energy and grows stronger before it returns to you. Sort of like sending a suitcase on a world-trip, it collects lots of stickers on the way :-)

If you send out into the world anger, unhappiness, pain, etc. If we take and never give, if we show disrespect and harm others, all this will return to you too. And just like before, it'll be threefold because it'll have had time to mingle with all other negative energies out there, and when it comes back, it'll be a double whammy for you.

The main thing to keep in mind is to always have a pure heart when dealing with anything. Do everything with love and compassion. It does come back to you, even if sometimes you wonder why you are experiencing a bad thing, that could be a lesson to learn love, you never know. It is the way of the universe, and it teaches us that to give is just as important as receiving.
